Form a collaborative group of six. Design an eight player game that will take place in two non-contiguous spaces of 8' x 16' x 8' each. Line of sight between the two spaces is optional. Players must remain within the space where they begin the game for the entire run of play. Two non-player runners can be enlisted to communicate between the spaces. Gameplay must be continuous, simultaneous. The activities in each space must affect or influence each other. Props may not be used as projectiles, nor as semaphores. The temporal envelope for setup, play, teardown, and reset of the space cannot exceed 30 minutes.

The objective of the game is to collect 10 of the purple tokens and “buyout” the other island.

In each of the rectangular spaces, there will be a plate. In between these spaces there will be bags of a variety of colored tokens and a large 4 sided die. The colors should be Green, Red, Yellow, and Blue. Separated from the other colors, there are a smaller bag of Purple Tokens.

A team of 4 players each will occupy each of the rectangles. This will be their island home. The teams will interact with one another through the role of the Trader. At the start of the game, each island team will have each of their players role the die. This indicates the color of their starting tokens for the game. The player collects 3 tokens of this color and returns to their island. The players must keep track of their tokens and may collect them together with the rest of the island’s player’s tokens.

A starting Trader is selected from each island. Once the trader has left the island, they can no longer interact with their teammates. The trader takes a selection of up to 4 tokens from their team’s collection and goes into the area in-between the islands. Here, they will roll for additional resources using the same die as before. The first Trader to get to this area goes first. The Trader rolls the die twice; the first time indicates the color they will take while the second time indicates how many tokens. A roll of 4 then 3 means that the Trader takes 3 yellow tokens. Once both Traders have gained their additional resources, they move onward to the opposing team’s island.

The Trader moves to opposing team’s island where they offer for a trade in resources. This trade must follow the trade ratios that will be available to all players.
For instance, the player can offer 2 red tokens in exchange for 4 green tokens. If the island’s pool of resources allows for the trade to go through, they commit to the trade. Otherwise, they decline the trade and the Trader returns to their island. Only one trade offer is allowed by each Trader.

When the Trader returns to their island, they have the opportunity to exchange the tokens they currently possess for purple tokens which are the end goal of the game. Purple tokens can be exchanged for 6 of the same colored token or a 1 token each of a different color (Blue, Green, Red, and Yellow). The tokens that are used to collect the purple tokens are put back in their respective bags between the islands before the Trader returns to their teammates. The Trader then gives back the tokens they possess and the island Team puts purple tokens they may have collected safely away under the plate. This ends a round of Trading.

After each round of Trading, the role of Trader is delegated to a new player; every player must take on the role of Trader when it rotates to them. When an Island has collected 10 purple tokens, the first team to offer them to the opposing team in exchange for their island wins the game.
