Your Other Half
Rapid Game Design Challenge 01
Ian Connor, Scott Davis, Sommer Shearer
Challenge 01 Prompt-Create a game that makes use of two bodies, a single mechanic, and a spatial envelope of 8 x 8 x 8 feet.
The mechanic and dynamic must be non-aggressive. Collaborate with two others to create this game, to form a group of three people.
Version 01-
In the designated area, two players face away from one another. The players must not face each other at any time. The first player strikes a pose while the other continues to stand still. The second player will take instructions from the first in order to mirror the pose in his position. The first player must maintain his pose while giving instructions. The second player must never look for indication of how close they are to mirroring it. A blindfold is allowed to maintain this aspect. When both players believe they have reached a mirror of one another, a picture can be take on their open side. The more complex the pose, the better. Creating a negative image is best!

Version 02- Revised Game
Two players enter the designated area. The players decide on a corner of the area to start and one player positions themselves on the corner facing outward from the area. The other player positions themselves aligned back-to-back, facing inward. The players must face opposite directions for the remainder of the game. They must also maintain as many points of contact through their bodies as possible such as backs, hand-to-hand, elbow-to-elbow and foot-to-foot. With these connections maintained, the two players together move from their corner to the opposite to succeed. Breaking the connections, such as from loss of balance results in a loss and the players must begin again from a corner. Verbal communication is not allowed.
