River-Bend

Setup:

This game is an active game where the players of 2 or more use their bodies. They will need to stand up and have room for everyone who is participating. The players will form up in the circle, giving each other arm room.

Play:

Play is judged (and controlled) democratically by the players (more on when to judge later). One player starts the game voluntarily by doing the first action, starting the river. The moves the players may take are making the river flow left, right, up, down, across, and freeze.  The player makes a fluid motion across their body (depending on the direction) with both hands palm forward, with the end of it pointing where the "river" will flow. The player that the river flows to must "receive" the river  and direct it on its path. Players should keep still until the flow of the river comes to them. If they move outside of their turn to change the flow, they are liable to be called for making a mistake.  The river flows from player to player until a player makes a mistake in their actions (if be not receiving the flow, passing the river smoothly, or moving outside of the their flow). This person has "Dammed" (GET IT??) the river flow and will be voted to be kept in the game or knocked out by his/her peers. If a player is knocked out, he is removed from the circle, which becomes smaller, and a player starts the flow once again. It is suggested that each time a player is knocked out, to increase the pace of the river flow. Those players that are still knocked out can judge players still in the game

Freezing: The freeze move can be called once per person in the game . This can be done raising your arms to each side of your body, palms outward and shouting "Freeze". This puts the river into winter and the flow stops. All players should also freeze at this point. Those that do not are subject to being "Dammed". This move can be used on your turn or anyone else's turn. If it is on your turn, make sure to receive the river first. The freeze continues for 3 counts of "Mississippi". During this time, one should look out for movement to call out other players on.

River-Bend motions:

Flow left: move your hands across your body, pushing it to your left. The person to your left receives the flow right side.

Flow right: move your hands across your body, ending with your hands your right. The person to your right receives on their left side.

Flow across: Move across your body until your hands are out in front of you. Push outward from your body, the person across from you receives it from in front of themselves.

^^THESE MOTIONS should feel similar to how you push water at chest level in a pool^^

Flow up: move across and raise the flow above your head, hands still palmed outward. (It should look similar to how you look after shooting a basketball). This can be directed to ANYONE in the game. The player who receives it from above their head and brings it back to chest level to continue the flow.

Flow  down: The river flows across and down your body, ending with your palms face down. Like flow up, you direct it to your player of choice and they receive it below regular flow level and bring it back to chest level for their movement.

These motions should be played out with you hands along with your feet. The flow of the river should pass along your chest in some manner.

A game has been one when one player remains after River-Bending with the other final player and one makes a mistake on their move. The player is called out by the senate of players that have been knocked out and the remaining player wins.
