HOW TO PLAY MYTHHUNT

 

 

  • Lay out all cards face down in a 11 by 17 game space. Make sure you have the creature cards in the game space (9 total)
  • Roll die to decide who gets the first turn. Higher number wins.
  • Players choose where they want to start on the border of the game board.
  • Flip the cards over to see the paths on the other side of the card.
  • Race to find the mythical animals under the cards!

 

 

GOALS

To collect as many points by catching ether Unicorns or Pheonixs. Unicorns are 200 points each and pheonixs are 100 points each. If a player finds a Dragon they get a minis 100 points. Once all the creatures are captured the game is over and the players add up their points. Whoever has the most points win!

 

RULES

When you get a creature card draw from the path card deck. Player gets to choose were thier path card leads.

I think this game would be better if the tiles were square so they could be rotated, then, when a player moves they can use part of a move to rotate one or more tiles, including ones they or on opponent are current on. For example, if they roll of 4 they can move 4 spots, or move 3 and rotate one tile once, or move 2 and rotate 2 tiles once or one tile twice, or .... etc. I think this would add a lot of opportunities for more stragety. Loved the game and the look/feel of the tiles!

This was a fun game to play in addition to being visually appealing. I especially enjoyed the dynamic nature of the board; being able to rotate and place the tiles added a nice layer of strategy by allowing players to advance and block each other. A larger board and more variety in tile types are things I would experiment with.
