Gridlock

Page history last edited by Ali Clark 11 years, 2 months ago

Gridlock is a game played on a triangular board composed of 33 hexagonal spaces.

It is meant to be played with 3 players at once, but can also be played by only 2 people.

Each player is given 11 hexagonal pieces, similar to a 6-sided domino. Each side of the piece has a number between 1 and 10.

The goal of the game is to have more pieces on the board than any other player when it is full. Pieces can be claimed and lost until the last piece is placed.

Ownership is kept track of by the placement of colored stones. Red for Player 1; Green for Player 2; Blue for Player 3.

The board is an open layout. Any piece may be played in any spot, as long as the number on the adjacent piece's face is lower than that of the piece played.

Rough Ex. :   \/   6  \

                   5 | 2    1|

                     /\ _2_ /

                                           1. Any existing piece can be played off of.

                                           2. If a piece is played off of, it is also claimed by the player who used it.

                                           3. In order to play off/claim a piece, the piece placed must have a number greater than the adjacent piece's number.

** 5 > 2; So if the 5 were played against the 2, the player who placed that piece would claim both that location and the piece                                                with the adjacent 2.

                                           4. Pieces can change hands any number of times, until the gas is over.

                                           5. The game is over when the board is full and pieces can no longer be placed. At this point, the player(s) with the most

                                               pieces on the board win.
